Favorite candy: peanut butter MnMs. Twix are a close second.
Not a fan of: scary movies, sweating, ordering at a drive thru for other people who don't know what they want yet and make me sit there awkwardly. See below.
Therapy: Date nights. Friends. Connecting with new people. Rare moments of being alone. Music. Cooking. My animals. Watching tv in my pjs with Chinese takeout. And I have a massive garden. But I can't keep indoor plants alive.
Why I'm weird: I've never seen or read Harry Potter. Please don't hold that against me. Also in high school, I had a legit fear of ordering at drive thru windows. My friends can tell you this is no exaggeration. Also, I live with a kid who is often nocturnal (so no sunrise sessions, sorry lol).
My celeb crushes as a teen: Heath Ledger and Johnny Depp. Oh and Jess on GG. Basically if he looked like he needed a shower and that I could fix him, that was my type. 😂 Although idk if anyone can compete with 1999 Brad Pitt. It was a good era to be a teenage girl. ;)
My kids are all named after pop culture characters. Ask me about it.
I'm kind of clumsy. My assistants are usually there just to keep me from injuring myself or losing my keys tbh.
I’m underrated as most of us are and refuse to pay for followers. 😉
How it all began...
I’ve always been a documenter. I have dozens of old videos, hundreds of pictures, and a closet full of memory boxes to prove it. Okay, so maybe “hoarder” is a more accurate term, but “documenting” sounds better. One of my favorite things to do is look through photo albums, especially ones that my sweet great-grandmother (aka “MamMaw Hagler”) owned. Those photos tell the story of growing up in a big family, life during the Great Depression, and wonderful moments frozen in time. I can easily get lost in old albums and boxes of prints for hours.
Because of this, I strongly believe in the power of a printed product. In an age where hard drives crash, CD’s get scratched, and technology consistently becomes outdated; seeing those gorgeous memories hanging on the wall or flipping through a custom designed, high quality album is priceless.
My introduction to the art of photography began in 2010, simply as a desire to capture my new baby’s life… the beautiful and the messy. Boy, has there been plenty of messy! I wanted more than just the traditional studio portraits. I wanted to have images of my baby living. I fell in love with capturing the everyday moments, which in time, got the attention of friends and family. When I first picked up that camera, I never dreamed it would turn into a full fledged business!
In 2015, I began specializing in high school seniors. I photographed my little sister her senior year and instantly fell in love with that genre. While I make sure to get a few classic portrait poses, the majority of my senior style has a bit of an editorial flair. I love this age group so much that I launched my first Wildflower Model Team that year as well, although admittedly, I had no idea what I was doing! Lol. Over the years, I've come to make lasting relationships with a lot of my seniors, watching them take on the world and become adults. It's an honor to get to spend a little time with them before their life moves them in all different directions.
What I do is so much more than a job. It gives me sincere joy to spend time with my clients, while also providing them with images that will last a lifetime. Taking the time to get to know my clients, I do my best to capture the essence of who they are, turning real life moments into beautiful artwork to be enjoyed for years to come.
"I've got dreams...
ones that are drenched in art
and taste like adventure...
ones that feel like
being kissed until my heart bursts...
ones that open up my whole soul
like a wildflower on fire."
