When chatting on the phone with Bryce's mom, she described him as easy going, fun, and just an all around typical dude. After having a few of his friends as some of my seniors, it's clear to see he's very well liked, and it isn't hard to see why. He's so easy to be around and has a good time no matter where he is or what he's doing. He opted for more of a city vibe for his Senior Experience, and I'm so glad he did. Both city locations were different but equally the perfect backdrop for his senior photos. We started in uptown Charlotte with a more classy look.
So fun story...
After we wrapped up in uptown, I went to pay for my parking at one of those kiosks in the parking deck. Unfortunately it wouldn't take any of my cards! Several minutes go by, and I start to panic thinking I'm going to be stuck there while Bryce and his family are waiting on me. Thankfully I had a few dollars, and it took my cash! Lesson learned, I'm staying away from those parking decks when I'm working. That was so stressful!!
For Bryce's second city location, he chose Camp North End. I started shooting there a couple of years ago, and it has absolutely grown in popularity since then. At one point in time, NoDa was basically my second home because my seniors loved it. Now Camp North End has replaced it. And it's easy to see why! It's massive, so even with other photographers or just people in general, I'm still able to get plenty of awesome shots without struggling to move through crowds. My only complaint is that they're currently renovating parts of it to make it look more upscale. I worry this will actually ruin what we all love about it. I love the creative freedom we have there. The colors, freedom of expression, and slight edginess make it what it is.
So if you're viewing these photos, just be aware these were taken in Fall 2020, and since then some of it has either been blocked off or is getting torn down for new development.
Anyway, back to Bryce's Senior Experience!
We had such a great time walking around, chatting, and exploring fun spots. He looooooved the area, and it was seriously perfect for him. His family came along too, as his mom wanted to get a couple good photos of them together, especially before Bryce heads off to college. They're really great people, and I truly enjoyed spending time with them. Several of these photos now hang on the walls of their home, and I'm so happy they get to enjoy them everyday now! Makes my job so worth it!
Just fyi, never assume a dude doesn't want senior photos in a field of wildflowers. ;)
While Bryce's whole city senior experience was a blast, it was that incredible sunset that just ended the day so perfectly. Probably some of my favorite photos from last Fall.
Bryce, you were awesome. Thanks for being game for whatever and making my job a fun one that day. :)
