My first impression of Lexi was that she was an outside-of-the-box type girl. She's funny, quirky, artistic, and super cute. Her mom really wanted some classic, pretty senior photos in a more natural setting. I really wanted to get some beautiful images of Lexi for her mom, while also making sure to get some that really captured her style and personality.
But first, the natural setting. ;) Lexi chose a couple of adorable dresses for these, matching the whole feel of the location. One of my favorite images from this series now actually hangs in my office as a vivid metal wall art sample! My past seniors will tell you that I show up with zero plans in my head. I've tried to do a specific game plan before, but I always get caught up in the moment and forget! haha So all of the images you see were just me working with whatever popped in my head. While we were walking along a path, I saw this beautiful patch in the woods where sunlight was glowing perfectly. I stuck Lexi in there, and it's now one of my favorite images.
After wrapping up Lexi's field senior photos, we headed towards Charlotte to add more of an urban vibe to Lexi's pictures. Watching her eyes light up at all of the color, the quirky paintings, and just the variety of spots was awesome. We had a great time exploring and grabbing some shots that just fell fully "Lexi". Fun fact that you wouldn't know from these photos... Lexi is a very talented dancer! She (like many of my other senior clients) has been dancing with Piedmont School of Music and Dance for a long time, and if you're even slightly familiar with that company, you know their dancers are just breathtaking. It's so amazing that our little girl is now in her second year there. Anyways I love getting senior dancers because their body awareness is next level. They know exactly how to move and adjust with minimal direction. The outfits Lexi chose were perfect for this. As the sun began to set, we ended up with the most beautiful night skyline. It was such a great way to end the day.
