Have you ever met someone that's just a ray of sunshine? That's exactly how Margaret is, and I've been dying to share more from her senior session we did in the Fall. She picked a weekend that was definitely peak color time for NC. Planning sessions for that gorgeous color here in the Huntersville area starts weeks in advance. I keep an eye on how the weather is leading up to it (rainfall, temperatures, droughts during the year... it all can make or break what we get). Luckily, for Margaret's session, we guessed right and it was goooooorgeous!
Seriously, I'm just going to give you fair warning... this is a picture heavy post. When a senior decides to go for it and purchase the entire digital collection (yes, that's an option!), that means I get to share ALL my favorites! And believe me, there were a lot. She is so stinking cute, and she looked incredible in every single shot. Margaret is also effortlessly sweet, funny, and easy to be around. Her smile and upbeat personality is contagious. Put all of that together, and you have one of those dream sessions photographers live for!
While she is clearly perfection as is, what most people don't see is the planning that goes into it prior to the session. A couple weeks before our shoot, Margaret came in for a style consultation with myself and the amazing Jan, owner of Hazel & Indigo and contributor to the Wildflower style closet. She had so many great outfit options, and we were able to narrow it down to the ones you see in this post. I love to give my seniors a variety of looks, each with a slightly different feel to them. I love her style, and it worked so well with that natural backdrop. On the day of the shoot, we met again at my studio for Jennifer to work her magic with hair and makeup. She kept it classic and stylish, which allowed her to transition seamlessly from look to look.
Remember how I called her a ray of sunshine? I think that clearly inspired how I approached her session. So much beautiful backlight, sunbursts, and of course that gorgeous glowy sunset. Also, fun story... as we were finishing up as the sun went down, we literally had a herd of big, floofy dogs run up and photobomb her session. They were SO cute!! And Margaret's reaction just made me love her even more.
Margaret is that type of senior that makes me forget I'm even working. The entire session was so much fun, and I think it shows in the final images. It was an honor, sweet girl!
