If you've been following me for awhile, then you'll 100% recognize this devoted Wildflower family. I don't photograph families very often anymore, as seniors take up the majority of my busy seasons. But I will always make time for this one. The Howards have been with me for 13 years... CRAZY!! Gah, time flies y'all.
Anyway, for their Christmas family session, we decided to take a little road trip to Old Salem. If you've never been, it's the coolest little Moravian neighborhood, historical site, and home of Salem College. We used to go on field trips here when I was little. It's also the most beautiful backdrop for photos.
Melanie has always done an incredible job at coordinating everyone's outfits. I look forward every year to seeing what she puts together, especially as they get older and don't even live under the same roof most of the year anymore! These were the perfect combination for that total Christmas feel.
We had the best time exploring the area, and there's honestly so much to use that my brain could hardly make a decision on where to start. Lol And of course, it's not a Howard shoot without having some goofy fun with their oldest Jack. I love that nothing has really changed with him over the years.
If the older ones look familiar, you probably recognize them from my instagram feed from the last couple of years. Jack graduated from NC State last year, Sophie is in her second year of college, and Darcy graduates high school this year. It's been so cool watching them all grow up into these amazing adults.
I have to give a shout out to the cutest coffee shop, Lot 63. They happily allowed us to invade their space. Seriously the nicest dudes that night. And dad was so sweet and bought everyone some hot chocolate. :)
I look forward to seeing this family every year. They're so nice, obviously photogenic, and fun to be around. Can't wait until next year! I don't know how we're going to get three of the 6 back home at the same time, but we're for sure going to try! haha
