I seriously can't believe I'm writing Abby's SENIOR photo blog post! I met this awesome girl through her older sister Kerry who was on my team a few years ago and basically gave Abby no choice but to join too. Lol. Abby joined as a junior and it was legit one of the best Wildflower memories for me to watch this girl grow in her confidence in front of the camera. She was the "veteran" on the team her senior year and stepped up to make sure everyone felt at ease and welcome on our first shoot. When it came time for her own senior session, she was a pro.
Abby and I are pretty different in our personalities, but we do have three things in common: a love for Gilmore Girls (TEAM JESS), wanting everyone to feel included and loved, and an appreciation for capturing the realness in people when it comes to photos (#makeinstacasualagain). I knew her session would be a fun one, because Abby is fun. Like her sister, she chose downtown Salisbury for her senior photos. Her parents are heavily involved in making Salisbury into an amazing little town while preserving its history (including their own gorgeous historical home). It just made sense to have Abby's photos here too.
We started her senior session at the Salisbury train station. Thanks to her mom being Queen, we got access inside the office areas during closed hours. I found the most beautiful wooden wall in there and just had to use it somehow. Turns out, we ended up creating one of my most favorite images of Abby I've ever taken. Abby drove me all around Salisbury, listening to country music and taking me to the small little spots that she likes. I love exploring little towns like this, finding the more obscure spots to use. It could be the texture of a wall, the color of a door or wall... just anything that catches my eye to use and bring my senior to the spotlight somehow. This was my third time photographing a Campion girl here, but I still managed to find some new areas to play in. :)
If there's anything you should know about Abby, it's that she loves being a goofball. Literally doesn't care what others think. She does what she wants and doesn't apologize for being a big kid. So when she asked if we could get some photos of her in her back yard, jumping on the trampoline, I was all about it! haha We also incorporated their gorgeous front porch. If you look closely, you'll see sweet Oreo kitty peeking through the front door window. They sadly had to say goodbye to Oreo recently, and now I'm so incredibly happy he was in this photo. Abby was his person.
One of the perks of having a mom that works for the town and knows all the important people... you get keys to the new park before everyone else! I had to best checking the new Bell Tower Green with Abby and her mom. It's seriously so pretty and very cool. I just love that we were able to include this newest Salisbury addition in Abby's senior session. It kept it fresh but also still so personal to her. And that waterfall wall!! So pretty!!
