Lauren is seriously the sweetest ray of sunshine! I met Lauren when she applied to be a part of my Wildflower Model Team, and I knew instantly that she'd be perfect for it. According to her mom, it's all she could talk about after applying. :) Her sweet spirit and beautiful smile are infectious, and you can't help but feel happy when she's around. She, her mom, and I seriously talked for like an hour and a half at her initial team interview... something that normally takes 30 minutes! hahaha They're both so fun, and it was great having that extra time to get to know her... like a few fun facts: she's been a part of an early college program and will graduate months ahead of everyone else, she's half Thai, and she's naturally a very thoughtful girl (pretty sure gift giving is one of her love languages). So naturally I was really looking forward to Lauren's personal senior session!
Lauren wanted to have a city vibe, so we chose uptown Charlotte for a portion of it. But her biggest request was to include water portraits... something I've become quite known for around here. haha
We started with hair and makeup at my studio. I have a whole list of my favorite artists that I recommend, and each brings their own unique style and talent. In Lauren's case, I knew she would need someone very skilled with hair... she has a LOT of hair! Lol My girl Angelica did an awesome job on both her hair and makeup. Seriously so so gorgeous!
I love that she's not afraid of color! Every outfit was incredible on her and really fit the vibe of uptown Charlotte. That orange dress is just stunning on her. One of the perks of having a Model Team is that by the time we get to their personal senior portrait session, they're super comfortable in front of the camera. They know my style of shooting, how I communicate, and what I'm after when I give them a little direction. It makes it a dream for both of us!
I love that Lauren incorporated purple into her portrait session, since that's the color of High Point University where she'll be attending in the Fall! And because it represented a major event in her life, we did a few of her in this outfit at the lake before switching to water portraits.
Once the sun got low enough, we headed over to the water for some water portraits... my favorite! :) I usually encourage my girls to wear a material that's not too heavy and allows them to move easily in. Lauren looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress, especially with that sunset!
I'm truly going to miss sweet Lauren! But she's going to take on High Point and then life by storm. Big things are in store for this one!
