When Lori approached me several weeks ago about being the photographer for a 16th birthday party at her new place, Mac Tabby Cat Cafe, before it was even open to the public... I was both super excited and incredibly honored. For those who aren't familiar with Lori, she is the ridiculously amazing talent behind Capture Me Candid. And I don't say that lightly. Her work is the kind I hope to be delivering when I grow up. So for her to want to use me for this was beyond humbling. But we have more than photography in common. We also happen to be fellow crazy cat ladies. So hanging out with a bunch of teens AND cats AND cake?! SIGN ME UP!!
I really did have a blast with these girls. They reminded me of myself at their age... except with better hair. ;) They were so easy to photograph, and it honestly didn't feel like I was working. I truly enjoyed hanging out with them. They were fun, silly, and were clearly loving the cat cafe.
Mac Tabby was the purrfect spot for Renee's 16th birthday. I don't think I've seen a teen that cat-obsessed since I looked in the mirror almost 20 years ago. It was adorable. Clearly we're kindred spirits. Other than she's an incredible ballet dancer, and I fall over walking down my driveway.
The kitties were hilarious and wonderful. It's definitely not everyday I hear purring in my ear as I'm leaning down for a shot. Lol. The best part is if you go to Mac Tabby and make a new best kitty buddy, they're all up for adoption thanks to Catering to Cats and Dogs. Pro tip: buy a peacock feather. These guys went crazy for them!
Lori did such a great job getting it ready just for them. It's officially open, so go visit!! And if you'd like your own Mac Tabby party, contact them and they'll get you hooked up. And you just might see me too. ;)
