No exaggeration, Peyton's flower field shoot is hands down my most requested "location/style" from any new seniors at their consultation. And I can't blame them. Everything about Peyton's Senior Experience was absolute perfection. Not only is Peyton the perfect client... super sweet, great style, easy to photograph... but the timing of the shoot was so so perfect! September can be hit or miss... either nasty hot or nice. Luckily we got the nice day. haha
To give Peyton a little variety, we started out the shoot in downtown Lincolnton (although I use the word "downtown" very loosely lol). It's got the cutest small town feel with lots of random cool spots to use. Most people have no idea where these were taken, which is exactly my goal when it comes to a lot of these shoots. I want people to focus on my senior, not a nice water fountain featuring my senior. ;)
This was actually not the first time I met Peyton, and neither was her consultation. Her older sister Morgan had recently graduated, and I had been looking forward to her shoot ever since I met her on Morgan's! What I love most about getting siblings is seeing how different they are when it come to what they want for their senior photos. Morgan loves nature but had no interest in flowers. She was more of a city, artsy girl for sure.
Peyton? BRING ON THE FLOWERS. haha
While I'm a fan of sunflowers, I personally love cosmos and zinnias more. They're so cute and pretty and just provide the perfect amount of color to an image without making it all about the flowers. Peyton's outfits looked absolutely stunning for these fields! This farm is one of my favorites, and the owners are the coolest, nicest people. If you're looking for a farm kind of feel to your photos, this place is perfect. Look at the cute swing!!
A lot of clients are often worried about getting that perfect sunset. What if it's cloudy? While I can never guarantee a golden sunset (who would've thought I can't control the sky, what is wrong with me lol), I can usually predict pretty closely how it'll end up looking. Peyton and her mom REALLY wanted a pretty sunset, and earlier that day, it was pretty overcast. I encouraged her mom that we should still go for it, because it could end up being beautiful.Â
And just look...
(here's your reminder to trust your photographer... we're going to give you beautiful photos no matter what!)
Peyton's flower field Senior Experience was a total dream shoot. And as you can see, they had a LOT of favorites. hahaha Extra album spreads were most definitely needed. ;) If you'd like to see how these look in print, I now have a sample album of her session in my studio. Schedule your consultation to see it and start planning your own perfect Wildflower Senior Experience!
