Happy New year!! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! I'm so looking forward to all that 2020 has in store. Let's kick off this year right with a blog post from a super fun Senior Experience, featuring my own Wildflower Model Sarah! I knew the second Sarah applied to be on my model team that photographing her would be a breeze. She's naturally confident in front of the camera, knowing what poses to throw at me and never nervous to take direction. You've probably seen her several times, including our 2019 model team styled shoot, our summer shoot for Hazel & Indigo, and the model team meetup at Birkdale. Finally it came time for her own custom senior experience. There are so many awesome locations in Charlotte that we could've used, but ultimately NoDa won out again! So without further adieu, Sarah's NoDa Senior Session...
I give all of my senior girls the option to either have a professional for their hair and makeup or do their own. Sarah opted to do her own, which if I'm completely honest sometimes makes me a little nervous... but thankfully Sarah is amazing at her own makeup. She knows exactly how she wants to look. Her beautiful complexion and features certainly help too. Like most of my senior clients, she brought a few outfit options, and we ended up with our favorite three. She could clearly wear a potato sack and still rock her senior pictures. Lol. But I loved the outfits she chose, especially those pants! The colors and styles were perfect for Sarah's NoDa senior session, and just fit the overall vibe so well.
But like each of my seniors, there's way more to Sarah than her obvious gorgeousness. Sarah is intelligent, well spoken, and carries herself with confidence. She's open to trying new things, including contortionist classes! How cool is that?! She's an incredibly talented synchronized swimmer. I've been super impressed with this girl since she showed up for her model team interview a year ago.
From a photographer's standpoint, Sarah is a dream to work with. She's perfected her posing and knows exactly how she likes to look in her photos. But even more important, she's also awesome at following posing directions and is always up for fun ideas. We had a lot of fun and definitely got the most out of NoDa. I always try to hit my favorite spots, as well as some new little corners that I haven't used before.
We had an awesome time during Sarah's NoDa senior session, even though it was pretty busy that Saturday evening. She was such a trooper and dealt with me saying, "Okay, I think we're good!... WAIT! One more..." about a million times. hahaha. We definitely used every minute of her session time and worked until the sun had set.
