One of the best parts of having a team is being able to put together fun shoots for the girls. Knowing it's my last year with my senior models is also a good motivator. Having more excuses to hang out before they take on adulthood is always in the back of my mind when planning. Not only is it fun for them to get different shoots throughout the year, but it's also awesome for me to be able to just play without any pressure. This was especially true at our last model team shoot. We headed to the Cabarrus County Fair in Concord for some colorful, cotton candy, stuffed animal, carnival FUN.
So here's a fun story... we almost didn't get into the fair. Apparently they added a newrule that would prohibit professional photographers (or anyone with detachable lenses) from entering the fairgrounds. Thankfully, the managers were very nice and let us in anyway. But for those few minutes, I was stressing and trying to come up with an alternate plan. Lol. Big thanks to "Stumpy" and the nice lady that realized we weren't going to cause trouble. ;)
You may also have noticed there's a new senior among my regular model team girls. Meet Mackenzie! Mackenzie actually contacted me over the summer asking to shadow me for her senior project. Needing a few more hours, I told her she was welcome to come to a model team meeting. Turns out, she had so much fun and felt so welcome by the other girls that she wanted to join too. Told you I have the best model team ever! Each girl is truly one of a kind. Anyone can go take a cute photo at the fair, but nobody can top the heart and soul of the Wildflower model team. I'm super proud of what we've created, and I hope to always keep this same spirit in the team no matter who comes along to join in the future.
Anyways... enough sappy stuff. The Cabarrus County Fair absolutely did not disappoint. If there's one thing I'm sure you've noticed, it's that I LOVE color. Probably because I feel like LIFE should be full of color! So all of this was just right up my alley creatively.
We really did have a great time. There was color. There was dancing. There was plenty of sugar. Hopefully if I bat my eyelashes right again, we can come back next year!
