I can't even begin to tell y'all how much I was looking forward to Kerry's senior session in Salisbury. When I first met Kerry a couple of years ago, I was immediately drawn by her energy and upbeat personality. She danced and laughed and appointed herself the DJ at Renee's 16th birthday party. And even better, she picked some great songs. ;) I was so excited when she decided to join the Wildflower Model Team. I knew she would be such a great fit, and if I'm being honest, she's the type of girl I would've wanted to be friends with when I was 16. While sitting in her room going over outfit options, I glanced at her walls covered in posters, photos, and slightly hippie-ish decor... and I was a tiny bit jealous because this is how I would've decorated my room if I'd been able to. Lol
Kerry grew up and is very involved in her hometown of Salisbury. In fact, her parents are also from that cute town (high school sweethearts) and a major part of the town's growing popularity. Kerry can often be found in coveralls restoring historical homes, which is ultimately her focus for her future college major. I actually had to edit out some bug bites she got from a recent project. Over the summer, her mom invited us to an outdoor concert at the beautiful Hall House. I brought my family, including my parents, for a picnic and live bluegrass music. I instantly fell in love with the area. Her neighborhood is so cute... like something out of a Southern novel. Gorgeous magnolias, white picket fences, and gigantic front porches (my favorite) all make up this beautiful area. Her mom has put so much time and energy into restoring and designing their own home. It only made sense for her senior session to take place here.
I could've spent the entire session within those couple of blocks, but the goal was to incorporate the main parts of Salisbury, including the town area. It was a lot of fun checking out spots Kerry has mentioned to us in the past. She showed me her favorite local vintage store, lovely pastel colored walls, and adorable strip of restaurants and shops. I always love discovering unique locations, and Salisbury definitely delivered. Towards the end of Kerry's senior session, her little sister Abby joined us for some super cute sister shots. Abby's just as cool as Kerry and so funny. I loved that their photos together capture their real personalities.
I can't believe my time with Kerry is almost up. She's been an absolute delight to have on the team, and you guys... this girl is going to do amazing things. Kerry, I hope you're able to take that beautiful spirit and amazing talent of yours and preserve our small towns, save forgotten historical landmarks, and convince people that new isn't always better. You're an incredible human, and I can't wait to see where life takes you.
