Ananya was one of the highlights of my spring. As a high school senior photographer, I admit we often have our own bucket list sessions in our minds. Those shoots we really hope we get to do, and it often requires patience. We have to wait for those specific seniors wanting a specific look to show up. Ananya was one of those for me. When she and her adorable mom came in for her consultation, I of course asked my expected "so do you have any ideas in mind already?". Her reply was, "Well, I do traditional Indian dancing, so I was hoping..." Before she could even finish, I was all, "YES!!" hahaha
I make it clear in my initial email and also at the consultation that I do allow enough time to squeeze in a few family photos before their senior heads off to adulthood. Ananya's family wanted to grab several, especially while her older brother was in town. They're such a pretty family, and I was so happy to capture these for them.
While Ananya obviously appreciates and wanted to honor her roots, she wants to spend the main portion of her senior session in classic American style. ;) East met the West as she traded her saree for a super cute floral dress to finish out the nature portion of her shoot.
Next we headed to my home away from home, Camp North End. She chose two outfits for this location and both were perfect. That orange top was gorgeous and such a fun pop of color against an already colorful area.
I don't know if anyone remembers the day last spring when the wind was insane all weekend, but guess what... this was that weekend! Lol. Wind can make or break a session sometimes. Luckily for us, we made it work for us instead of against us, and Ananya looked freaking gorgeous!
Her last outfit was just lovely and paired so well with that pretty Charlotte skyline.
