Hailey's senior session ended up being one of my favorites from the year. Not only is she an amazing girl, she's insanely sweet. She normally keeps her look simple and natural and saves the makeup for the stage. But for the same reason you don't hire a friend to take your senior photos, I always recommend hiring a professional makeup artist for a photoshoot. For her shoot, Carly with Bel Fiore did her hair and makeup, and she looked stunning! Hailey happens to be a very talented actress, devoting the majority of her after school hours to theater. So for her senior session, it only made sense to incorporate that somehow.
Hailey was able to get special permission to use the Old Courthouse Theater in Concord, NC. It helps that she's performed there many times, so she had some good connections. ;) It used to be an old church, so the entire things is so so cool. The theater had a scheduled production that evening, so we got to use some of their stage set!
After the theater, Hailey changed and we got some super cute shots of her in downtown Concord. I love when seniors have some fun with their outfits... look at that awesome skirt!! It ended up coordinating with the awesome mural perfectly!!
Our original plan was to use Lake Norman for some beautiful water portraits... except that there was a sewage spill that day which made it unsafe to swim in. (#gross) Thankfully this wasn't my first time having to find a last minute backup plan. I called up the mom of a past senior asking if we could use their property as we were desperate. She was just as wonderful as I remembered and welcomed us, no hesitation.
Hailey's outfits were absolute perfection for these. Very natural and pretty, but she still took it up a notch to make it photo worthy. Anytime a senior brings a hat, I'm excited. Lol
We ended our time together in their beautiful pond. Thankfully not one snake sighting either! Lol Water portraits are one of my favorites. Are they usually cold? Yep. Kind of gross? Usually. Worth it? 100%! haha
